My neighbor still uses the same password for everything. His bank, email, the works.

He told me last week, 'it's easy to remember.' That's a huge risk. If one site gets hacked, they get into everything. I showed him a free password manager I use. It took maybe 15 minutes to set up. Now he only needs to remember one strong master password. What other simple habits do people miss that open them up to trouble?

That "hover over them first" trick is a game changer. I used to be the king of clicking sketchy download buttons on old forum sites. My computer was basically a public zoo for every virus out there. What finally got me to stop was when a fake "flash update" locked my browser with that fake FBI virus scan. Had to explain that one to my dad. Do you still see a lot of those fake update pop ups around?

My aunt still clicks every email link that says "urgent." Got her to hover over them first to check the real address, and it blew her mind.

But is it really that big a deal if she clicks them?
