I keep seeing people treat their email list like a megaphone and it's killing their results
My team ran a split test last month where we sent one group a standard weekly promo blast and another group a single, hyper-targeted email based on a past purchase. The targeted group had a 34% higher open rate and triple the click-throughs. This wasn't some new tool, just using basic data we already had in our CRM. Everyone talks about personalization but then just blasts the same offer to 50,000 people. How do you actually segment your list without it taking a full work day?

Oh wow, that's a huge difference! I set up simple tags in my email tool based on what links people click. So if someone clicks a link about, say, garden tools, they get tagged and then get more emails about that stuff later. It runs itself after the first setup.

Right, but tagging based on link clicks has a blind spot. Someone might click a garden tool link out of curiosity but actually be way more interested in your survival gear content. You could be narrowing their experience based on a single impulse click instead of their bigger picture.
