Realized I was burning out because I kept saying yes to every coffee meeting in Chiang Mai.

After 4 months of zero real work days, a fellow nomad pointed out I was spending more time networking than actually building anything, has anyone else had to cut back on meetups to stay productive?

Have you actually counted how many of those coffee chats turned into paying clients? I did the math on mine. Nine out of ten were just people bored and looking for free conversation. Cut back hard after that. Only meet people who have money to spend or actual skills to trade. Everything else is just socializing dressed up as productivity.

That hits close to home. I did the same thing in Chiang Mai a while back. Counted up all those coffee meetings and realized most of them were just people wanting to vent about their visa runs or talk about their travel plans. Only two out of twelve led to anything productive, and one of those was a freelance gig that paid peanuts. Wasted a good three weeks before I wised up and started saying no. It's rough when you think you're being proactive but you're really just filling time.
