Finally got my bowls to stop flipping over in the wash cycle

I tried putting my cereal bowls at a 45 degree angle between the tines instead of flat on the bottom rack. It actually worked on the third load at my sister's house in Denver. Now they come out dry and clean every time. Has anyone else found a weird angle that fixes a loading problem?

Right, same here. I bet altitude definitely changes how the water drains off those bowls.

Oh man, that 45 degree angle trick is smart. A buddy of mine tried something similar with those big soup bowls that always trap water on the bottom. He wedged them diagonally between the tines kind of like a tilted pyramid and it worked for him too. Took him like four loads to figure out the sweet spot though, and his wife still thinks he's crazy when he loads the dishwasher. I bet altitude or water hardness makes a difference too, since you mentioned Denver.
