Serious question, I just dropped $300 on a drafting arm for my board and I'm not sure it was worth it.

I've been using a standard parallel bar for years, but a guy at the supply house said the arm would speed up my section views... honestly, it feels clunky and I keep knocking my coffee over. Has anyone else made the switch and actually liked it?

My buddy Dave bought one for his home setup and hated it for the same reasons. He said the learning curve was brutal and it just collected dust after two weeks. Ended up selling it for half what he paid.

Man I read a whole article about this exact thing. They called it "feature fatigue" where people buy gear with too many options and then just give up. The writer said companies keep adding bells and whistles that nobody really uses. It just makes everything more complicated than it needs to be.

Yeah the "collecting dust" part is so real. I had a similar thing with a fancy coffee machine my sister gave me. It had all these settings and needed special cleaning stuff, and I just wanted coffee. After like a month I went back to my old drip pot because it's just easier. Some gear is like that, it looks cool but gets in the way of actually using it.
