Finally using a banjo instead of a hand trowel for taping inside corners
I've been fighting inside corners for years with a 6 inch trowel and getting lumpy tape. Last week I grabbed a cheap banjo from the supply house on a whim. Setup took 10 minutes to get the mud consistency right but once it flowed it laid perfect tape every time. Now I'm kicking myself for waiting 8 months to try it. Anyone else switch and never look back?

Oh man, that banjo is a game changer for real. Once you get the mud dialed in it just flows and the tape lays down dead flat. I fought with hand taping for way too long too. Now I can do a whole room of inside corners in like a third of the time and the finish is way cleaner. No more lumpy tape or fighting to get it to stick. You're going to wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Have you tried thinning it with a little water and letting it sit for five minutes before loading?

What kind of mud consistency do you find works best for the banjo? I keep going back and forth between a little thinner than what I'd use for hand taping and pretty much the same. Feels like if I get it too thin the tape wrinkles on me, but too thick and it clogs up the nozzle every few feet.
