I finally gave up on taping a 12-foot cathedral ceiling seam by myself after three hours.

Three hours on a ladder trying to make tape stick overhead is its own special hell. My arms were noodles and I got more mud in my hair than on the seam. Tyler6 has the right idea with renting gear for the big stuff, because trying to be a human drywall lift for a ceiling like that is a fast track to feeling like a total fool. You just end up talking to yourself while the tape keeps falling off.

Yeah, that's a brutal job solo. I ended up renting a drywall lift from the hardware store for like forty bucks a day. It held the panel tight to the joists so I could actually focus on getting the screws in straight. Made the whole thing possible without a second person.

Man, that sounds like a special kind of frustration. Three hours on one seam is enough to make anyone want to throw the tape roll. Those high ceilings are no joke when you're by yourself. Tyler's idea with the lift is a solid one for the panels, but the taping part is still its own beast. Huge respect for even trying that solo, honestly.
