Spent 3 hours trying to match a weird orange peel texture from a 1970s Reno house
Turns out the homeowner's dad just thinned joint compound with water and flicked it on with a paintbrush handle. Anyone know a faster way to replicate that specific mess?

Three hours for a texture nobody will notice in a week. That dad had the right idea.

Right? I spent a whole weekend trying to get the perfect edge on a garden bed. My neighbor walks by, kicks a clod of dirt against it, and says "looks fine." What's the most time you've wasted on a tiny detail that just didn't matter?

Spent a whole afternoon perfectly aligning the pattern on a wallpaper seam behind a bookshelf. Filled the shelf the next day and you can't see a thing. Sometimes good enough is just fine.
