Shoutout to ductless mini splits for our garage conversion
Spent around $3800 on a Mitsubishi unit for my garage conversion in Edmonton last fall. I was gonna go with baseboard heaters but my buddy who does hvac talked me into this instead. It heats way faster and I don't have to deal with cutting into my furnace ducting. Has anyone else tried these for a cold climate garage?

oh man that reminds me of this guy i work with, he did the same thing in his garage up in fort mcmurray and he said it was the best decision he ever made. he was dead set on getting a gas heater but his wife talked him into one of those minisplits instead and now he swears by it. he told me it heats up his whole garage in like 10 minutes flat even when it's -30 outside and he barely noticed a difference on his power bill compared to what he was paying for baseboards at his old place. only thing he complained about was that he had to clean the outside unit a couple times because of all the snow and ice buildup but that's pretty normal for anything up here. his garage is insulated pretty good though so that probably helps a ton.
