I quit pre-twisting wires before capping, against common advice

It hasn't caused a single failed connection in two years.

Seriously, same here. I stopped doing that tight pre twist years ago and just push them in straight. Hasn't been a single call back or loose connection, and it saves so much time on a big panel. Those caps are made to do the twisting for you if you just give them a good crank.
