Update on that tricky 3-way switch in the renovated kitchen

Everyone said it was a simple traveler wire swap, but a hidden junction box behind the tile backsplash added 4 hours to a 30 minute job. Has anyone else found surprises in 'simple' renovations?

Ugh, why do houses always have secrets? I used to think old wiring was straightforward until I found a nest of cloth-covered wires just tied together with tape in my attic.

Remember when we thought a blown fuse was a big deal? I found a junction box held together by hope and a rubber band in my last place lol
