Vent: Monday that started with a service call and ended with a crawlspace nightmare
Had a 7am residential call for a tripping AFCI breaker, traced it to a chewed wire in a crawlspace full of mouse droppings and standing water. Took me 4 hours to fix what should have been a 45 minute job. Has anyone else had a week where every simple call turns into a disaster like that?

Are we really acting like a bad crawlspace is a life-changing lesson now lol? You just get dirty, fix the wire, and move on.

Used to roll my eyes at guys who said they wouldn't work in certain crawlspaces, but after one bad day with standing water and rat droppings I get it now. That chewed wire nightmare sounds like every part of the job that can go wrong decided to team up at once. Some days you just have to laugh at how bad it gets and remember the next call probably won't be that rough.

It's funny how all those little warnings people give you don't really stick until you live through it yourself. There's just something about experiencing a truly awful day that makes every single piece of advice from before suddenly make total sense. I see it everywhere too, not just in jobs like this but in all kinds of life stuff people tell you to be careful about and you wave it off until you get burned. After that one bad day you start paying attention to those little red flags you used to ignore because you know exactly what they lead to. It's like the universe finally teaches you that lesson the hard way and you just have to accept it and move on.
