That new LED mask I bought on impulse melted my client's face oil
I snagged this fancy red light therapy mask off a Facebook ad last week, thought it would be a cool add-on for my facials, you know? First time I used it on a regular client her serum literally started bubbling and smoking under the light, I had to yank it off her face. Anybody else have cheap light devices straight up fail on them like this?

Read online that some of those cheap masks have different light wavelengths than they claim, so maybe it's reacting weird with ingredients in your product. Happened to a friend of mine with a knockoff device and she ended up with a similar bubbling issue. Might be worth testing it on a towel or your own arm before risking another client's face.

That whole "reacting weird with ingredients" thing makes me think about how much we just trust cheap stuff to work like the real thing. I've noticed it with so many things lately, not just beauty gadgets. Like those off-brand phone chargers that say they're "fast charging" but then your battery drains even faster. Or knockoff nonstick pans where the coating starts bubbling after a month. Feels like companies cut corners on the actual science behind the product and just slap on the trendy label. Your friend's situation sounds frustrating but honestly, it's a good reminder that sometimes you really do get what you pay for with this tech stuff.
