Rant: My smart speaker recorded a 3 minute conversation about my kid's birthday party

I was checking my privacy dashboard on the device's app last night and found a random audio log from Tuesday afternoon that wasn't triggered by a wake word. The transcript was just me and my sister planning the cake. Has anyone else had their assistant save a full conversation it definitely wasn't asked to record?

Okay but "wasn't triggered by a wake word" is the thing. These things are always listening for that word, so sometimes they just get it wrong and think they heard it. Mine once recorded 30 seconds of my dog barking. It's not some secret recording, it's just a dumb machine making a mistake. You were talking about a party near the device, it probably picked up a word that sounded like "Alexa" or "Hey Google." It's creepy for sure, but it's not like a person is sitting there listening to your cake plans.
