PSA: That 'drink eight glasses of water a day' rule cost me a fortune in bottled water
I bought into that myth hard for months, thinking I needed exactly eight glasses. I was buying those big 24-packs of bottled water every single week, spending about $40 a month just on water. My kitchen was full of empty plastic bottles and I was constantly running to the bathroom. Turns out, I read a study from the Mayo Clinic that said most people get plenty of water from food and other drinks. I was just flushing money down the toilet, literally. Has anyone else felt tricked by this old saying and ended up with a weird water habit?

Check your pee color, that's the best indicator. I switched to a filter pitcher and just refill one bottle all day.

Keep a glass by the sink, makes it automatic. Pale yellow is the goal.

Totally agree about the pee color thing, it's the easiest way to know. I do the same as @gonzalez.reese with a filter pitcher and it just makes the whole habit so simple. Never going back to buying packs of plastic bottles.
