Rant: My aunt proved me wrong about salt in coffee

I always thought putting salt in coffee was just some weird internet myth, like putting ketchup on scrambled eggs. But my aunt Linda visited last week and saw me choking down a bitter cup from my $30 Mr. Coffee machine. She grabbed the salt shaker and threw a tiny pinch right into my mug before I could stop her. I almost dumped it out but she dared me to try it first. The bitterness was just gone, like completely smoothed out without tasting salty at all. Now I'm annoyed because she was right and I've been suffering through bad coffee for years for no reason. Has anyone else had a family member bust a myth you swore was fake?

Same thing happened with my mom and black pepper in my lemonade. Wild how right they always end up being.

Wait, is black pepper in lemonade actually a thing @morgan_ramirez? Now I'm scared to visit my grandma because she'll probably try to put oregano in my tea or something. I still can't believe I've been grimacing through bitter coffee when a salt shaker could've saved me this whole time.
