Shoutout to my wife for shutting down that old 'spoiled baby' myth
We always heard from my mom that holding our newborn too much would make him clingy. I argued it was just an old wives' tale. My wife found a bunch of articles saying it's really good for bonding. We showed them to my mom, and she finally backed off. Now we cuddle our kid without guilt, and he's super happy. It feels like a win for modern parenting against outdated ideas.

Can't believe people still think cuddling spoils babies, but @sage_hernandez is right about those old rules.

Your story reminds me of how many 'common sense' rules from past generations don't hold up today. I've seen similar shifts with things like strict feeding schedules or the idea that kids need constant structure. Now we have better info showing that tuning into individual needs usually leads to happier families. It's a slow change, but watching those old myths get replaced feels like real progress.
