Just realized my denim jacket looked way better after I stopped washing it for 6 months
I got this raw denim jacket from a thrift store in Portland last fall and it started stiff and dark blue, but after wearing it daily through rain and coffee spills it's got these sweet faded creases around the elbows and collar. The color changed from that uniform indigo to a worn-in patina that fits me way better now, and I think the oils from my skin did the work. Has anyone else had a piece of clothing look cooler after you just let it get grimy for a bit?

@victorb17 hit it, letting stuff build character is just life's way of making things yours.

Hold up... @barbaraw47, did you just say a whole summer without cleaning them? That's wild. I can't even go a week without scrubbing my work boots, the dirt just bugs me too much.

Guess my old leather boots went from workhorse to art piece after I spent a whole summer not cleaning them once.
