My professor insisted I ditch the zippers for a silk wrap dress, and she was totally right.

Remember how a zipper can snag or break at the worst time... a silk wrap just moves with you and never fails. It's one of those rare things that's both more comfortable and looks more put together. That switch from hardware to fabric is about trusting the design to hold itself together... which feels kinda freeing. Your professor was teaching you to rely on the material and cut, not the metal teeth. That's a lesson that goes way beyond just one dress.

Ever had a button pop off right when you needed it most?

My friend Sarah had a zipper give out right before her big presentation last year... she was stuck in the bathroom for twenty minutes trying to fix it. She finally had to safety pin the whole thing shut. Now she only buys wrap dresses for work. She says the silk ones just feel secure in a different way, like the dress is working with you instead of against you. That one bad zipper totally changed how she shops.
