Sold my old van on Facebook in 6 hours flat after trying Craigslist for 2 weeks with zero bites
Listed a 2005 Ford E-150 on Craigslist for $3500 with good photos. Got one scam text in 14 days. Reposted the same ad on Facebook Marketplace on a Wednesday afternoon and had 8 people message me before dinner. Sold it that night to a guy who showed up with cash. The difference was huge. What marketplaces are you guys having the most luck with right now?

Yeah "zero bites" is exactly what happened to me too. I had a nice old Honda Civic listed on Craigslist for like two and a half weeks and got nothing but spam. Moved it to Facebook Marketplace on a Saturday morning and had three people fighting over it by noon. Sold it to the first guy who showed up with cash that afternoon. Facebook just has way more eyeballs on it now I swear. Craigslist feels like a ghost town unless you're selling something super weird or niche. I think the whole marketplace thing really shifted hard during the pandemic.

Yeah I was a Craigslist holdout, but @julia_lee you totally changed my mind on this.

Has anyone actually looked at the spam situation on Facebook Marketplace lately? I swear half the messages I get there are bots asking if the item is still available, then trying to get my phone number for some scam. Craigslist taught me how to spot that stuff years ago, and I still feel safer meeting people from there.
