A homeowner in Denver called my quarter-round work 'hasty' and it stuck with me
They pointed out a 3-foot section where my cuts weren't as tight as the rest. Said it looked rushed. I argued the floor was level and it was fine. But that night, I went back to my shop and practiced my miter cuts on scrap for an hour. Now I check every corner with a flashlight before I call a job done. Anyone else get a piece of criticism that actually improved their finish work?

Honestly some clients just nitpick to feel smart.

Ugh, tell me about it. I just give them one clear revision round upfront to get it out of their system. It saves so much time and pointless back-and-forth.

Honestly though, maybe you should just take the win that your work was good enough to pass inspection until some random homeowner got picky about a 3-foot section. That customer probably moonlights as a building inspector for fun.
