A guy at my shop in Tucson asked for a 'cactus bouquet' but got mad when I used real ones.

He said, 'I wanted the look, not the poke!' after he grabbed a stem and got a handful of spines. What's the weirdest request you've gotten that backfired on the customer?

Oh man, that's perfect. Had a lady insist on "rustic" twine to hold her arrangement together, then complained it was too rough on her hands. You can't win sometimes.

Ugh, people are the worst. Reminds me of a guy who wanted "authentic" burlap table runners, then got mad because they shed fibers on everything.
