Why does nobody talk about how you're supposed to store ranunculus?
I was complaining to a grower at the Dallas market about how mine always get slimy stems, and she said 'girl, you're drowning them, they need a dry pack for the first 24 hours.' Has anyone else had success with this method?

Heard that trick works for peonies too.

Wait, what trick exactly? @richard_dixon I've got some peonies that are stubborn about blooming. Are we talking about the beer trick for roses, or something else? I tried the banana peel thing last year and got nothing but ants. If there's a specific method that worked for you, I'm all ears. My pink ones are fine, but the white ones just won't open up right.

Hold on, you got ants from banana peels too? That's exactly what happened to me! I put them around my rose bush and it was like a tiny insect picnic. I had to stop because they were everywhere. So you're saying there's a beer trick now? I'm scared to try anything new after that mess.
