Pro tip: I think the whole 'put an egg in your ramen' trend is overrated and made my dinner a salty mess last night.
I followed a viral video exactly, cracking an egg into my $1.50 instant noodles, and it just made the broth weird and cloudy instead of rich and creamy.

Hard disagree, that egg trick is a total game changer for cheap noodles. Maybe @morgan_ramirez has a point about the method, but the salty packet is the real problem, not the egg.

My cousin who cooks a lot said the trick is to take the pot off the heat before you stir the egg in. Let it sit for a minute with the lid on. I tried it that way and it actually worked better, the egg cooked softly instead of scrambling into bits. The cheap seasoning packets are already so salty though, it can still be a lot. Maybe it just works better with the fancier ramen brands that have less salty broth.

Honestly it's just instant noodles, right? I mean we're acting like it's some fancy cooking show. The egg trick is fine but at the end of the day you're still eating a salty packet soup. Maybe it's just me but I don't get stressing over the perfect method for a three minute meal.
