Just hit $10k in a single month for the first time
I've been freelancing for about two years now, and my income was always up and down. This month, a big project from a client in Boston finished up, and a few smaller ones all landed at once. I looked at my total and it was $10,327. It matters because it shows me this can actually be a stable job, not just a side thing. Has anyone else had a month that made them feel like they could really do this long term?

Hold up, you're calling it stable after one good month? That's just luck with the timing of payments. Next month you could be back to two grand when nothing lines up. Freelancing is a roller coaster, not a steady job. A single number doesn't change the game.

My first year freelancing I felt that way too. Then I set up three steady retainer clients that pay the same amount every month. It's not just about one good check anymore.

Yeah, that "single number doesn't change the game" thing is real. My buddy had a crazy month like that, then his main client ghosted and he was back to zero real quick.
