Tried to explain a floppy disk to my cousin's kid and it went about as well as you'd think
We were at a family barbecue in Austin and this 14-year-old found my old box of 'save icons' in the garage. I said it was how we stored files before clouds, and he just stared at me like I'd grown a second head. I ended up showing him a YouTube video of a disk drive sound, which he called 'a weird robot snack.' Anyone else from our generation have a moment where you felt like a museum exhibit?

What did he think the save icon was supposed to be? I had to explain a landline phone with a cord to my niece last month, and she asked why you wouldn't just walk around with it.

Seriously, maybe the floppy disk is just a cool abstract symbol now, who cares?
