That perfectly even wheat field down the road got me pondering gene changes...
I passed by it yesterday and every stalk looked identical... no weeds in sight. The farmer mentioned using seeds altered to need less water, which helped during the dry spell. Is saving resources worth messing with a plant's basic blueprint though?

Honestly, that's everywhere now. We're always tweaking things to fit our needs, from plants to phone batteries.

Wait the farmer said the seeds need LESS water? That's wild, I thought all plants just died without enough rain. How do you even change a plant to drink less, does it like sweat less or something? My tomato plants shrivel up if I miss one watering. Messing with that basic need feels like playing god with a watering can.

After killing three herb gardens, I'm all for playing god with a watering can... it might save my plants.
