I finally listened to my old boss about hanging beef

Wait, you were only doing 21 days before? @simonp47 might be okay with that but it sounds like you were leaving flavor on the table.

Rant: I keep seeing people mix up GMOs and gene editing like they're the same thing

Totally, it's like how people mix up any new tech. They hear a scary word once and it sticks for everything. Like how my mom calls every game console a Nintendo, or every tablet an iPad. It just shows how hard it is for regular news to explain science stuff without making it sound simple and scary. So GMOs and gene editing get lumped together as 'bad science food' even when they work in totally different ways.

A tiny crack in a coax connector cost me half a day

Had a King Air with a similar issue last spring. That tiny crack in the SMA connector drove me nuts for a whole shift. Feels good when you finally spot it.

Question about using a fish tape on old plaster walls

Is cracking the lath really that common? I've run wire in a few old houses and the plaster seems tougher than people say. Sometimes you hit a solid spot, other times it's just hollow. Maybe it depends more on how dry the plaster is or if it's already loose. I've had it go fine more often than not.

My go-to comfort meal is a cold baked potato with ketchup, and my friends act like I'm a monster.

My grandma in Vermont always put a tiny pinch of salt on her watermelon slices. It makes the fruit taste sweeter by contrast, which is basic food science. People get weird about mixing tastes they think should stay separate, but that's how we got things like salted caramel. The judgment says more about their boring palate than the actual food.
