Rewatched 'The OA' last month and I'm still not over it

I binged both seasons again in my apartment in Portland, and that ending with the dimension jump is a huge cliffhanger. The creators had a five season plan, and canceling it after two feels like reading half a book. The fan campaigns to bring it back were huge, with people raising over $10,000 for billboards. Has anyone heard any real rumors about another network or streamer picking it up?

My buddy got so into the fan campaigns he actually learned the movements. He would practice in his living room, said it felt like a weird kind of prayer for the show to come back. He even drove to see one of those billboards they put up in LA, took a picture like it was some kind of shrine. It’s wild how a story can get its hooks in you like that, leaving you hanging forever.

My cousin printed out a map of all the fan funded billboards for that canceled space show. She planned a whole road trip to see three of them over a weekend, said it felt like visiting graves for a friend who was still alive. She even left a little plastic astronaut figure at the base of the one in Austin. The whole thing was sad but also kind of beautiful, you know?

Wait, your friend actually learned the movements? That's a whole new level of dedication. I remember trying to follow along with my hands from the couch and just getting tangled up. The idea of someone doing the full routine, with the right timing and everything, in their own living room is just wild to me. It really shows how deep that story went for people. Driving to see a billboard feels like a pilgrimage for a show that got cut down too soon.
