Just blew $200 on a 'smart' resume scanner that's clearly just an AI with bias baked in

It rejected a perfect candidate because their degree was from a non-US university, no human would have flagged that. Anyone know a real, ethical screening tool that doesn't just automate prejudice?

Been there, wasted money on the same junk. Most of those tools are just keyword filters with a fancy name. You need something that lets a human set the rules. Look at platforms that do blind screening, they hide the university name and location in the first round. It forces a look at the actual skills. Some even let you turn off all the personal info filters completely.

Yeah, those automated filters are a total scam. We got burned too and switched to doing a quick skills test first, before the resume even gets seen. It's a simple project that shows if they can actually do the work. That way you're judging the output, not the school name or where they live. It takes a bit more setup but you find way better people.

Ugh, tell me about it, we had one that auto-rejected anyone with a gap in their work history. Total waste of money.
