My buddy got super into One Piece and hit the infamous "Sky Island" filler stretch. He said it felt like the story just stopped moving forward for weeks. He actually quit the show for a year because of it.

Filler episodes? You picked the most boring topic at a con on purpose, didn't you? Bet the panel was just people arguing about which beach episode was the worst.

The worst filler I ever saw was in Naruto's "Chunin Exams" arc. They added like 15 episodes of random side characters doing pointless missions nobody cared about. It was all just to stall for the manga to get ahead. That's the real problem, when filler completely wrecks the pacing of a good story.
