Chat with a frame machine tech last Thursday made me rethink how I prep panels for pulling

He said 'you're leaving 3% of the tension locked in the metal' and showed me his tension gauge readings on a uniside, now I'm wondering how many guys check for residual stress before even hooking up their chains, anyone else ever chase that last millimeter with a torch?

Hold up, 3%? That's wild. I never thought you could get that fine with a gauge on a uniside before pulling. Makes me wonder how much my panels are fighting back without me even knowing. Did he say what kind of torch work gets that last bit out, or is it just heat and patience?

Yeah @wendy_jackson that torch work is just heat and patience, nothing fancy.

Wait, you're telling me 3% is possible with a uniside?
