I rewatched the 2016 Point Break remake last night and it made me miss the VHS era
Found the DVD at a thrift store in Boise for a dollar and thought, why not. The whole thing felt like a 2 hour ad for Red Bull, with zero of the original's weird charm. It made me realize some movies are just a product of their specific time, like a worn-out tape. Anyone else have a remake that just made you appreciate the janky, low-tech original more?
Jennifer_henderson89 nailed it about movies having no soul. That slick Total Recall remake felt like a tech demo, not a story. It makes you miss the grimy, lived-in feel of the old ones.
