Spent $120 on a fancy baking scale and I wish I bought it years ago

My old scale was a $15 basic model from Target and it finally gave up mid-croissant batch last Tuesday. I caved on a high-end Oxo with a pull-out display for $120 and it's a game changer for yeast doughs. The precision on small amounts like salt or yeast is actually way better than I expected. Has anyone else dropped serious cash on a kitchen tool and immediately regretted waiting so long?

Oh my goodness, I was exactly like that too. I always thought spending more than $30 on a scale was silly, but after borrowing my daughter's nice one I finally get it now.

Get a good digital scale and never look back. Worth every penny.

Read on Serious Eats that expensive scales use better strain gauges.
