Bought a $200 clipper sharpener that ruined my blades in 3 minutes

That fancy electric sharpener took off way too much metal and now my favorite Wahl blade leaves lines. Anyone else ditch those machines and go back to manual stones?

Yeah @xena_fox39 you nailed it, those machines just strip everything off before you even feel it.

@julia_miller24 you summed it up perfect. Those electric sharpeners are a trap because they take off metal way too fast and you can't feel when to stop. Tried one myself last year and it turned a perfectly good set of blades into junk in under a minute. Manual stones let you go slow and check your work as you go. Why do companies keep pushing these overpriced gadgets that just destroy equipment?

Bought one of those fancy sharpeners last year. Watched it grind my blade down to a toothpick in about 30 seconds flat. Switched back to a cheap whetstone from the hardware store and my blades actually cut now. Sometimes simple tools just work better than all the gimmicks.
