Tried ultrasonic cleaning on a neglected 10-speed chain last night

Honestly I thought it would just make it look pretty but the amount of gunk that came out was insane, shifted way smoother after. Anyone had issues with the solution getting into sealed pins or is that just a myth?

Oh come on, people have been worrying about that for years and I'm pretty sure it's overblown. If your chain's sealed properly a little soapy water isn't gonna hurt it.

What about the water getting past the seal on the pedals though?
