The $40 meal prep container set that paid for itself in 2 weeks
I got tired of throwing out half-eaten takeout containers and spending $12 a day on lunch during school breaks. So I grabbed a 10-pack of glass meal prep containers from Target for $40. First week I used them to pack leftovers from dinner instead of letting them rot in the fridge. By the second week I realized I was saving about $60 a week just on lunch alone. The glass ones don't stain or warp like plastic and they stack way better than random takeout lids. My only complaint is the lids can crack if you drop them on tile. Has anyone else found a container brand that holds up better than these?

Snap lids on glass are my nemesis too.

Three tries and I'm honestly reconsidering my whole kitchen setup, but isn't that a bit dramatic?

The rubber seal is actually the real problem, not the lid itself. @kim_west probably ran into the same thing where that seal gets slightly twisted or has a tiny crumb stuck in it. That little strip of rubber creates a vacuum that's way stronger than anyone expects. Wipe both the rim and the seal bone dry before snapping it down. Also check that the seal hasn't gotten stretched out from washing it in hot water too many times. A warped seal will fight you every single time no matter how hard you push.
