My $35 sleeping pad popped on the first night at Yosemite

I bought this off-brand inflatable pad from Amazon thinking I saved money, but by 2 AM I was laying on cold dirt with a slow leak near Half Dome. Turns out the material is way thinner than the Therm-a-Rest ones I've used before. Anybody had better luck with budget pads holding up on rocky ground?

That moment when @kim_west is right and the real world reminds us that cutting corners usually costs more in the long run.

Look at the ground underneath before you inflate. Even budget pads can handle a night if you clear out rocks and pine cones first. I swear some people just toss their pad down on a gravel pit and get surprised when it pops. Also maybe don't buy the cheapest thing from a random Chinese brand and expect it to last a season.

Oh come on, brand doesn't always mean junk if you're careful with setup.
