Hit 100 job applications in 3 weeks before my first interview call
I was laid off from a warehouse supervisor role in Phoenix back in February. I set a goal to send out 10 applications a day. After 3 weeks and exactly 107 apps, I finally got a call back. The number surprised me because I thought the first response would come around 30 or 40. What mattered was seeing which apps actually got replies - it was mostly the ones where I customized my resume for the specific job duties. Generic copies just disappeared into the void. Has anyone else tracked their ratio of apps to callbacks?

Track how many of your callbacks came within the first 24 hours of applying versus days later... that timing gap really shows which companies are actively hiring versus just collecting resumes. For me, the ones that responded fast also had the shortest hiring process overall. It might be worth noting whether those custom resumes got quicker replies too.

Read a study once that said companies who respond within 24 hours are 3x more likely to hire you. Makes sense. They've got their act together. Those slow ones are probably sitting on your resume for weeks then ghosting you.

Disagree honestly, some of my best jobs came from companies that took weeks to call back @julia_miller24.
