My worst framing day ever was last Tuesday and I still can't believe it
I was working on a garage addition out in Maplewood and everything went wrong from the start. My compressor died about 30 minutes in, then I dropped my favorite speed square off the second floor and it cracked on the concrete. On top of that, I cut a whole stack of rafters 2 inches too short because I misread the plans. I had to run to Home Depot twice that day for a new square and more lumber. Has anyone else had a day where literally nothing goes right?

Brother I've had days like that where I should have just crawled back in bed and pulled the covers over my head. At least you got to Home Depot before they closed, I once showed up 5 minutes after and just stood there staring at the locked doors holding my broken tools like an idiot.

Kevin that's rough buddy. I once drove 45 minutes to a Home Depot in the next town over (completely forgetting there's one closer to my house) and got there right as they were pulling the gate down. The guy just shook his head at me through the glass like I was a ghost or something. I stood there for a solid five minutes holding a broken hose nozzle before I finally gave up and went home. @ross.kevin at least you had the good sense to show up with your tools still in hand, I just had my car keys and a dream. Reminds me of the time I showed up to a jobsite with the wrong pressure tip and spent the whole day making a mess instead of cleaning one.

Are you sure that's worse than missing the whole day? I mean yeah it sucks showing up late but at least you got your money's worth making a mess. @rowan_roberts49 sounds like a character-building day to me.
