Am I the only one who thinks wall-to-wall is still the best option for bedrooms?

Three years ago I did a big job in a new build in Phoenix where the homeowner insisted on a huge area rug over hardwood in the master. Last month I got a call back because the rug kept bunching up and they tripped in the middle of the night. I had to go back and secure it with heavy duty pad tape, which cost them an extra $80. I keep hearing everyone say area rugs are more modern, but for safety and a clean finish, a proper glued-down wall-to-wall carpet just can't be beat in a sleeping space. Has anyone else had to fix a 'trendy' choice that just didn't hold up?

Totally agree... had a client last year who wanted a big jute rug in their kid's room for the look. It was a nightmare, the corners kept flipping up no matter what we tried. Ended up being a huge safety worry. Sometimes the old way is just the right way.

My sister bought a jute runner for her hallway last spring and it basically turned into a tripwire. We tried double sided tape, rug pads, everything. It looked good for about a week before it started its war against our ankles. Some trends just aren't worth the battle, lol.
