Overheard a kid say 'just restart it' like it was ancient wisdom

I was at Micro Center last week grabbing some thermal paste, and this teenager behind me tells his friend 'if it's acting weird, just restart it, that fixes like 90% of problems.' Got me thinking about how much time we waste chasing driver updates and registry fixes when half the time a simple reboot does the trick. How often do you guys go straight to complicated fixes before trying the basics first?

Right? I've literally spent an hour uninstalling and reinstalling drivers before remembering to just restart the computer, and it's made me feel pretty dumb every single time. Do you usually catch yourself before going down the rabbit hole or only after?

It's the same reason people ignore the easy button on anything.

Funny you mention that, I see the same thing with people resetting their routers. Everyone just jumps to call their ISP or mess with DNS settings before trying the most obvious thing. There's this weird pride thing where people think the simple fix is too basic, like they need to show off their technical knowledge. But honestly, half my family's tech problems get solved by a hard reset and a cup of coffee.
