Just found out my password manager was leaking data through browser extensions

I ran a check with a free security tool last weekend. Saw 23 tracking scripts tied to my password manager extension. I thought those addons were safe because the company made them. Turns out, they loaded third-party analytics. I deleted the extension and use the desktop app now. Has anyone else found sketchy stuff in their browser addons?

Tried telling my dad about this exact thing last week and he just stared at me blankly while clicking "accept all cookies" on every site he visits. He still uses the same password for everything. His password manager extension was apparently the least of his worries. Kinda made me realize how many people just don't care about this stuff at all.

Yeah, I saw the same thing with mine. 23 tracking scripts is wild. I ran a similar check after a friend caught his password manager sending data to Facebook. Totally agree on ditching the extension. I switched to the standalone desktop app and never looked back. Now I only use extensions for stuff that absolutely needs to work in a browser, like my ad blocker. For security stuff like passwords, keep it off the browser side.

Wait, @tyler_wilson, does this mean my password manager has been judging my "Password123" taste this whole time?
