Unpopular opinion: I used to think a home base was a waste of money

For my first two years on the road, I moved to a new country every month, thinking it was the only way to do this. I was always tired from packing and learning new bus systems. Then last fall, I rented a small apartment in Lisbon for a six-month lease. Having a consistent desk and a local grocery store cut my stress in half and let me actually focus on client work. What's your take on having a semi-permanent spot versus constant movement?

Totally get that, felt the same after settling in Prague.

Wait, you moved to a whole new country EVERY MONTH for two years? That's insane, I'd be a total wreck lol. I can't even handle packing for a week-long trip without stress. Having a little home base sounds like it saved your sanity, not just your work focus.

Yeah, that burnout from constant moving is so real, and @tessa_clark74 is right about how a base helps. I did the non-stop travel thing too and it just grinds you down after a while. Having one spot to come back to makes the actual travel parts way better, lol.
