Choosing between a miter saw and a circular saw for my deck rebuild
I had to rebuild a small section of my deck in Tacoma and was stuck between buying a new 10-inch sliding miter saw or just using my old circular saw with a guide. I went with the circular saw to save money, and after about 4 hours of careful cuts, it worked out fine, though it was slower. Has anyone else done a whole deck project with just a circular saw?

Honestly, good call. A circular saw can do pretty much everything for deck work if you take your time. I built my whole back deck with just a circular saw and a speed square. It's more about being careful with your lines than having the fanciest tool. The miter saw is faster for sure, but not worth buying if you already have what you need.

Totally agree with @rose_cooper, my circular saw is my most used tool.

Wait, you built a whole deck with just a circular saw? @rose_cooper, how many blades did you go through? I'd be so scared of messing up the angles on all those joists. You must have the patience of a saint to line up every single cut with a speed square. My back hurts just thinking about all that bending over.
