Vent: A homeowner in Boise told me my taping lines were 'wavy' last spring

I started using a 6-inch knife for the first coat instead of my usual 4-inch, and it really smoothed things out. Anyone have a different trick for keeping that first bead straight?

So you switched to a six inch knife for the first coat. Did you change anything about how you load it or your pressure on the wall?
