Bought a $40 'detox' foot pad that promised to pull out toxins overnight

Saw an ad saying these sticky pads turn black from pulling junk out of your body. Used them for a week and they just got dark from sweat, my feet felt the same. Looked it up and found studies showing it's a total scam, the color change is a chemical reaction to moisture. Anyone else fall for this one or know other health myths that waste cash?

Hold on, you're just reading the wrong studies. That color change is proof it's working, pulling out the bad stuff through your sweat glands. My aunt swears by these, and she's way healthier than me. @tessa_clark74, maybe your sister just didn't use them right or bought a cheap brand. People are too quick to call everything a scam without giving it a real chance. Sometimes you gotta trust the process, even if science hasn't caught up yet.

Is it that big of a deal if people want to buy a sticky foot pad? It's forty bucks for something that makes them feel like they're doing a cleanse, and the worst that happens is they have a damp sock.

Oh man, those foot pads are such a scam. My sister bought a whole box once and made me try one, it just looked gross and damp in the morning. Total waste of money, like those magnetic bracelets that are supposed to help with pain.
