Update on that 'you need to drink 8 glasses of water a day' thing

I tracked my intake for a month and felt the same as when I just drank when thirsty... has anyone else found this myth to be totally overblown?

Yeah that whole thing feels like a made up rule lol. Did you track what you were drinking besides water, like coffee or tea? I feel like they never count that stuff but it's still liquid. Also what were you doing that month, like were you working out a lot or just at a desk? I bet that changes it a ton.

Honestly, people forget humidity plays a huge role too. Working in a dry shop versus a humid office changes how much you actually need.

Yeah the humidity thing is so real... my buddy worked in a dry warehouse last summer and was chugging water all day. Then he switched to a super muggy greenhouse job and said he barely needed half as much, even though he was moving around more. His lips stopped being chapped all the time too. It totally changes the whole game.
