PSA: I was stuck on a sleeve pattern for a jacket and a weird old book fixed it
I was drafting a tailored jacket sleeve and the cap just looked wrong, too flat on top. I tried adjusting the ease three times and nothing worked. Then I dug out this old sewing book my grandma gave me, 'The Classic Tailored Jacket' from 1978, and it said to slash and spread the pattern at the crown, not just the bicep line. I added a quarter inch there and the whole thing just fell into place. Has anyone else found that the old school pattern making tricks still work better than the new digital methods?
