Tried that 'fast set' vinyl plank adhesive on a basement job last week and it was a total mess
The can said it would grab in 15 minutes, but after laying about 200 square feet, the planks were still sliding around like they were on ice. I ended up having to pull it all up and use my regular adhesive, which wasted a whole afternoon. Has anyone else had a bad run with this stuff, or did I just get a bad batch?

My crew used that same adhesive in Chicago last month with perfect results.

Sounds like a classic case of bad batch or wrong conditions.
Remember that "fast grab" time is for ideal situations, meaning a perfectly level, clean, and warm subfloor. Basements are rarely ideal, often being cold and sometimes a bit damp. That will wreck the cure time for any adhesive. I always tell people to treat those advertised times as a best case scenario, not a promise. You probably did nothing wrong, the product just didn't meet the needs of that specific job.
